Willo Labs Brightspace/D2L LTI 1.3 Implementation

Dynamic Mode

1. Log into Brightspace as an Administrator, navigate to the Admin menu, and select Manage Extensibility.
2. Click on the LTI Advantage tab and select the Register Tool button.

3. Select Dynamic mode and complete the following fields:
   • Tool initiation registration endpoint
     • USA: https://app2.willolabs.com/lti/register/platform/
     • Canada: https://ca2.willolabs.com/lti/register/platform/
   • Select Configure Deployment.
4. Click Register.
5. Enter your email address and click Submit.
6. You will receive an email with the subject line “Your access key for Willo Labs LTI 1.3 Registration” containing the access key needed to complete registration. Copy the access key provided into the Access Key Field and click Submit.
7. Note the provided Client ID and click Complete Registration to navigate back to Brightspace.
8. Back in Brightspace > Manage Extensibility > LTI Advantage, click the checkbox beside the newly created tool and click Enable to enable the tool. Optionally, to rename the tool, click into it and update the name and then click Save and Close.
9. Navigate to the Administrator panel > External Learning Tools.
10. Click on the newly created deployment and ensure the following Security Settings are enabled:
    • Org Unit Information
    • User Information
    • Link Information
    • [Optional] Classlist including users not known to this deployment
11. Under Configuration Settings, ensure the following are enabled:
    • Open as External Resource
    • Grades created by LTI will be included in Final Grade

12. Under Substitution Parameters, add in the following items:

course_end_date	$CourseSection.timeFrame.end
context_id_history	$Context.id.history

13. Navigate to the bottom of the page to record the Deployment ID. Send the Deployment ID and Client ID from step 7 to your Integrations Team contact.
14. Ensure that the appropriate Org Units are available to the tool.
15. In the newly deployed tool, click View Links underneath the Deployment ID to create a placement

16. Click New Link and enter the following values:
    • Name: Willo Digital Delivery 1.3
    • URL:
      • USA: https://app2.willolabs.com/onelink/
      • Canada: https://ca2.willolabs.com/onelink/
    • Type: Deep Linking Insert Stuff
17. Click Save and Close.

Standard Mode

Register the LTI 1.3 Tool

1. Log into Brightspace as an Administrator, navigate to the Admin menu, and select Manage Extensibility.
2. Click on the LTI Advantage tab and select the Register Tool button.
3. Select the Standard mode.
4. Complete the following fields:
   • Name: Willo Digital Delivery 1.3
   • Description: Optional
   • Domain:
     • USA: https://app2.willolabs.com
     • Canada: https://ca2.willolabs.com
   • Redirect URLs:
     • USA: https://app2.willolabs.com/lti/launch
     • Canada: https://ca2.willolabs.com/lti/launch
   • OpenID Connect URL:
     • USA: https://app2.willolabs.com/lti/initialize
     • Canada: https://ca2.willolabs.com/lti/initialize
   • Target Link URI:
     • USA: https://app2.willolabs.com/onelink/
     • Canada: https://ca2.willolabs.com/onelink/
   • Keyset URL:
     • USA: https://app2.willolabs.com/platform/keyset
     • Canada: https://ca2.willolabs.com/platform/keyset
   • Extensions: Select all
     • • Assignment and Grade Services
       • Deep Linking
       • Names and Role Provisioning Services
       • Platform Notification Services
   • Roles: Select Send Institution Role
5. Click Register.
6. Click on the LTI Advantage tab and select the Register Tool button.
7. Click on the newly created tool and navigate to the bottom of the page. Record the following values:
   • Client Id
   • Brightspace Keyset URL
   • Brightspace OAuth2 Access Token URL
   • OpenID Connect Authentication Endpoint
   • Issuer

Deploy the LTI 1.3 Tool

1. Navigate to the Admin menu, and select External Learning Tools.
2. Click on the LTI Advantage tab and click on New Deployment.
3. Complete the following fields:
   • Toggle to the Enabled state.
   • Toggle on Auto Migrate Links.
   • Tool: Choose the tool created in the previous step.
   • Name: Willo Digital Delivery 1.3
   • Description: Optional
   • Confirm that all Extensions are selected
   • Select the following items in the Security Settings section:
     • Org Unit Information
     • User Information (select all)
     • Link Information (select all)
   • Select the following Configuration Settings:
     • Open as External Resource
     • Grades created by LTI will be included in Final Grade
   • Under Substitution Parameters, add in the following items:

     Name	Value
     course_start_date	$CourseSection.timeFrame.begin
     course_end_date	$CourseSection.timeFrame.end
     context_id_history	$Context.id.history

   • Click Add Org Units to add any org units with courses that need to utilize the tool.
   • Click Create Deployment.
4. Click on the new tool deployment, navigate to the bottom of the page, and note the Deployment Id.
   

Add Link Placement

1. Click on the LTI Advantage tab and click into the new tool deployment.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on View Links. 
3. Click the New Link button.
4. Toggle to the Enabled state.
5. Enter the following values:
   • Name: Willo Digital Delivery 1.3
   • URL:
     • USA: https://app2.willolabs.com/onelink/
     • Canada: https://ca2.willolabs.com/onelink/
   • Type: Deep Linking Quicklink
6. Click Save and Close.

Send Configuration Values

Send the following values to the Integration Specialist so that the configuration can be completed.
