VHL: Adding Courseware with Follett-Willo Digital Delivery 1.3 in Canvas

In this article, you will find the steps to connect your VHL courseware to your Canvas course using the Follett-Willo Digital Delivery 1.3 tool with your campus program.

Part One: Pairing Your Course

Step 1.

Navigate to your Dashboard in Canvas to select the Course where you would like to add the Follett-Willo Digital Delivery 1.3 link. 

Step 2. 

Click the blue Module button on the right-hand side. 

Step 3. 

Name the Module where the courseware links will go, then click Add Module.

Step 4. 

Click the + to the right of the module name.

Step 5. 

From the dropdown menu, select External Tool. 

Step 6.

Next, select the Follett-Willo Digital Delivery 1.3 link. If you do not see one of these options, your campus LMS Administrator may have named it something different such as Willo, Willo Uno or Follett-Willo. Find one that is similar to one of the options. Then, click Add Item.

Step 7.

Click Continue in a new window.

Step 8. 

You should now see a course, or a list of courses to choose from if you're teaching multiple courses/sections. If the correct course information appears, click the appropriate green Select button, then click the Review Details button.

• Note: If the course information is not accurate, you will need to enter in a Product Token. Please see the Product Token section below for more information.

Step 9.

On the Review Selected Course Materials screen, review the course and product information to ensure it is correct. If the course information is correct, click the Confirm Selection button. 

Step 10.

The next screen will display that the course was paired successfully. Click the Course Management button and skip to Step 11.

Using your Product Token

Note: This step is only necessary if your course materials do not auto-populate in Step 8.

To use your Product Token enter the six-digit Product Token and click Verify. *If you do not have a Product Token, please email [e-mail].

Look over the product and course details and verify that the details are correct. If everything looks good, proceed with the course pairing by clicking Course Management.

Part Two: Connecting your VHL Courseware to your Canvas Course

Step 11.

Click Add Publisher Links. 

Step 12.

Click Continue to Vista Higher Learning.

Step 13.

You will be prompted to log into your VHL account using your VHL credentials.  

Step 14.

On the Course Connector page, click the radio button next to the VHL course section that must be linked to the Canvas course, and click LINK THIS SECTION.

Step 15.

Select LINK TO CURRENT ASSIGNMENTS to add a link to the student dashboard, LINK TO SPECIFIC ACTIVITY or LINK TO SPECIFIC ASSESSMENT to add links to specific assignments, or LINK TO VHLCENTRAL HOME to add a link to the vhlcentral page to the Canvas course. 

Note: that links can only be added one at a time.

Step 16.

Click on Close window.

 

Step 17. 

Return to your Canvas course and click Add Item to add the link the module.

Grade Sync

Vista Higher Learning supports grade sync. VHL grade sync functionality only attempts to create grade columns and push grades to the LMS after an assignment's due date has passed. Students in the course must also link the LMS and VHL accounts for their grades to sync. To configure assignments for sync, instructors should follow the below steps.

Step 1.

Access the Gradebook in the VHL course, and select LMS Sync.

 

Step 2.

Select Edit Settings.

 

Step 3.

Update grade sync status to Enabled, choose with grade data to sync, and then click SAVE.
