1. Navigate to your Moodle course and turn editing on by clicking the gear icon in the upper right and selecting “Turn editing on”.
NOTE: Atop your Moodle course page, you may see the following prompt - you will need to "Add tool" before moving forward. Please "Add tool" if this prompt exists in your course:
2. Find the module that you would like to add your eBook to and click "Add an activity or resource".
3. Select External Tool
4. You will need to fill in the following:
General Tab:
- Fill out the "Activity name" with the title of your textbook
- Add the URL that Willo Labs will send you by email.
- The preconfigured tool dropdown should say "Automatic, based on tool URL". Do not modify the Preconfigured tool. You will see a small green check mark appear.
Grade Tab:
- Click on Grade and change Type to "None".
5. Click "Save and return to course".
6. Go back into your Moodle Modules and click on your eBook link that you just established.
7. Select your Term Start or enter your class start date.
8. If you are loading an eBook please confirm that the eBook that populates is the eBook that you are using for your course.
ONE FINAL TIP - this allows students to access their ebook in a new browser tab and is a better overall experience:
- Turn editing on
- For the eBook link, select “Edit” followed by “Edit settings”
- Select “Show more…” (it’s small and not obvious to find)
- Where it says “Launch container”, change the drop down from “Default” to “New window”
- Scroll the to the bottom and select “Save and return to course”
