How is KU’s LMS (Canvas) data privacy technology different from a student agreeing to the usual publisher end-user agreement?
Our LMS privacy technology prevents sharing of any student private information with 3rd party publishers and providers. So it totally eliminates the risk that student data will be leaked in any 3rd party data breach. Whereas an end-user license agreement provides only terms and conditions that apply after the student data has already been breached. Our technology ensures this breach scenario will never impact our students and faculty using digital course materials.
When will KU’s LMS data privacy technology apply to Macmillan integrations?
KU has extended the requirement date for Macmillan to January 2022, as a special exception to help faculty onboard into the IA program with large section enrollments.
